In the enchanting world of creative design, every project has its unique charm. Today, we’re thrilled to pull back the curtain and share the story behind our latest venture – designing the product tags and POS (point of sale) for the Snapper plant, the star of this year’s John Lewis Christmas advert as part of the collaboration with our client The Little Botanical.
The Journey Begins:
We have been working with The Little Botanical, an amazing house plant brand since their inception. We designed their original branding and website so we were thrilled to be a little part of this huge collaboration with John Lewis.
From the initial concept to the final product, our creative agency embarked on a journey to capture the essence of the Snapper plant using the assets created by the inspiration team at Saatchi & Saatchi. Drawing inspiration from its vibrant colours and the fun magic it brings to festive spaces, our team set out to design product tags that would convey the Snapper’s festive spirit.
We were also pleased to have designed all the product labels for the rest of The Little Botanical Christmas range which is also on show at all John Lewis stores.
Infusing Festive Magic:
The Snapper plant, featured prominently in the John Lewis Christmas advert, is no ordinary botanical wonder. It boasts a unique blend of charm, charisma, and a touch of seasonal magic. Our task was to ensure that every product tag and the POS on display in all the John Stores up and down the country echoed this enchantment.
Designing for Impact:
Our creative process involved meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that we used the original concept and assets in the correct way and ensuring the labels were the correct height to show Snapper off in all his glory! The goal was to create product tags that not only complemented the Snapper plant’s natural beauty but also stood out as festive keepsakes for those who welcomed him into their homes.
Sustainability in Design:
In alignment with our commitment to sustainability, we opted for eco-friendly materials for the product tags. This decision not only reflects our agency’s values but also resonates with the growing awareness of the importance of sustainable practices in the creative industry.
As the John Lewis Christmas advert graced screens, showcasing the Snapper Venus Fly Trap plant in all its festive glory, we couldn’t help but take pride in our role in bringing this botanical star to life. The product tags, carefully designed to evoke the magic of the season, now accompany the Snapper on its journey to brighten homes across the country.
