Vinco Marketing wins Wired Sussex pitch to work on a project to launch a collaborative work and and event space for the creative digital community in Bognor Regis.
Back in late August, Vinco was invited to pitch by Wired Sussex to act as their local communications partner on a project to create a collaborative workspace in Bognor Regis, and we’re absolutely thrilled to announce that we won the business. Wired Sussex was keen to work with a local agency and the project brief attracted pitches from five other local agencies and took place at Chichester University’s Bognor Campus.
Bognor Regis is very close to our hearts, Victoria our Managing Director grew up in the town and has a lot of contacts in the area – she has even been crowned ‘Miss Bognor’. So, to work on a project with goals to develop the local area, improve people’s perceptions, and ultimately, contribute to the economic growth of the town, feels very gratifying.
The project is part of West Sussex County Council’s (WSCC) long-term plans to develop a creative digital community in the town and the first stage is the creation of a new co-working space located in the two old waiting rooms of Bognor Regis railway station, which will launch in mid 2017. Hemingway Design, owned by local West Sussex resident and Red or Dead designer, Wayne Hemmingway, will be overseeing the interior design of the space as well as creating the overall brand design for the hub and project.
As Communications Partner for the project, we’ve hit the ground running with setting up social media channels, email campaigns and contacting and building a database of members of the creative and digital community in the local area. A key part of the project is promoting a series of community ‘check-in’ events which Wired Sussex are organising through to February next year. The second community event was in September where we invited local businesses to share their views on the Creative Hub project. A further two more community events are planned before the end of the year, one on 15 November at Oxford’s Wine Bar and a Christmas get together on 13 December at The Pier Restaurant and Bar. Both events will include project updates, so if you’d like to come along sign-up here. As well as the events, we’ll be working to engage and build insight from the town’s key influencers to understand the needs of the community and how these can be supported by the hub. We’re really enjoying working with Wired Sussex and WSCC and are looking forward to seeing the positive impact of the project will have on the community and Bognor Regis.
